Leadership and Volunteer Work

Certified Nursing Assistant at Naples Comprehensive Health

Working as a certified nursing assistant has provided me with firsthand experience in patient-centered care and the responsibilities involved in supporting individuals with varying needs. My role requires me to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and remain attentive to changes in patients' conditions. I regularly communicate observations and concerns to the charge nurse and other members of the healthcare team, coordinate with colleagues, and interact with patients' families to help ensure continuity of care. In a fast-paced healthcare environment, clear and timely communication is essential, particularly when responding to unexpected situations or changes in a patient's condition. Beyond providing direct care, I recognize the importance of advocating for patients, preserving their dignity, and ensuring their concerns are heard and respected.

LSU Freshmen Explorers Program

Through LSU's Freshmen Explorers Program, I participated in faculty-mentored research preparation, interdisciplinary networking, and the development of an independent research project. Beyond developing my own research interests, the program provided opportunities to support incoming freshmen as they navigated the early stages of undergraduate research. Through peer mentorship, I helped introduce the next cohort of students to research opportunities, project development, and the resources available to them at LSU.
